As a registered professional architect and a proud member of the American Institute of Architects, Wayne Simpson has over 30 years experience in the design and execution of architectural services and planning projects. Responsible for a wide range of building types such as commercial, institutional, multi-family housing, adaptive reuse and restoration of historic structures, his concentration on the challenges of single family homes has led to recognition in The New York Times, Progressive Architecture, Better Homes and Gardens, and Builder as a national award winning architect.

Colleen Simpson, a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, has combined her 25 years of architectural experience with an expertise in interior design services that harmonize with their architectural goals and visions.

In 1997 after a lengthy tenure with a prominent local architect known for his building restoration work and residential design in the regional style, Wayne and Colleen joined forces to establish Wayne Simpson Architect. The firm assists owners of historic properties with correct restorations and appropriate renovations, and clients desiring new home additions employing equal measures of function, permanence and delight. By combining architecture and interior design, the firm is better able to design spaces with an appropriate use of material, scale and proportion with the added comfort of color, furnishings, fabric and accessories.
